About
Allan Mottram, MD attended medical school at the University of Colorado and then completed a three-year residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago. During residency, Dr. Mottram served as Chief Resident, and as a flight physician for the University of Chicago Aeromedical Service. After residency, Dr. Mottram completed a two-year Medical Toxicology fellowship at Cook County Hospital / University of Illinois, where his research focused on cardiac toxicity. After fellowship training, Dr. Mottram served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin in the Division of Emergency Medicine. There, Dr. Mottram provided direct patient care, taught medical students and resident physicians, and pursued research in the Cardiovascular Research Center with a focus on essential fatty acids as a therapeutic intervention for cardiac toxicity.

Dr. Mottram's journey to practicing wellness and longevity medicine began well before medical school, and has continued to evolve since then. Currently, Dr. Mottram is an avid trail runner and has completed ultra-marathons including the Pikes Peak Marathon, Bighorn 52, and Superior 100, addition to pacing runners through the Leadville Trail 100 and Wasatch Front 100. Competing in ultra-distance events requires perseverance through exceptionally difficult mental and physical challenges to reach the finish line, which parallels the path to well-being. The lesson here, as with almost all valuable achievements, is that there is no easy path.
The fundamentals of exercise, nutrition, and sleep are essential. While no one will ever get this perfect, the effort we invest will vastly improve our lives, and the mindfulness we develop while on this path will be its own reward. Through his medical practice, Dr. Mottram is privileged to bring the art and science of medicine to his patients, whom he will forever be grateful to for trusting in him.
